Hello, this is partner of Nosta Solutions, Psychopath and I am here today to give a review of Fallout 3. Let me start off by saying that this isn’t really Fallout, it tries to copy Fallout and it does it averagely. It is just that it isn’t really Fallout. I feel that having Enclave, the Brotherhood of Steel and Radscorpions doesn’t really make it Fallout. I like the effort they put into making it Fallout but it really doesn’t work out that way. Maybe it is just because it is an FPS-RPG and not a top down isometric RPG. Other than that I found it great.
The graphics are the first things I noticed in the game, I found the detail put onto the bloom and water ripples were awesome, but what I really didn’t like about
the graphics were . . . everything is brown. A depressing sea of brown. Besides that, let’s go to my favourite moments of this game…
My favourite parts of the game were Galaxy News Radio, Tranquility Lane, the Bloody Mess perk, and the stealth parts of the game. I’m sorry but what would be awesome is listening to Galaxy News Radio in Tranquility Lane, slicing a guy and seeing his arms and legs fall off and hiding from dogs at the same time. That would be the best game ever! When I go point blank into a Super Mutants face with the Hunting Rifle and see his head fall off and his eyes pop out in slow motion, it is so kicking rad to see. Oh, I didn’t exactly explain the story did I? You’re some guy who starts out in a Vault known as Vault 101, your dad leaves the Vault and you have to find the guy and HE GE- I won’t ruin the story. Play it yourself. Anyways now onto the game-play.
The game-play was great, but I could only find an enemy every 20 minutes or so, but what makes up for that is how fun it is to see a Mole Rats head fall off 30 feet somewhere else into a pit from no where. Seriously, if you want to talk gore, you got it. The gore isn’t as bad as Soldier Of Fortune: Payback (I want my pay back!), but it sure is pretty gory. It is like seeing three Raiders try and fuck a football with their limbs falling off. There was a great variety of weapons but the only ones that do anything are the Big Guns.
I couldn’t find a gun in good condition and repairing weapons doesn’t really do anything which is really sad. You can only repair it up to like 50% which is rather annoying and
every weapon does almost no damage, I have to upgrade my Small Arms skill up to 120 to do decent damage. Constantly having to upgrade and repair your weapons can get quite boring after awhile. You have to be careful where you hit someone because it you want to steal his things they have to be in good condition. One good pop to the head and he/she/or it will fall and his gun will be okay. But if you shoot his arm his gun will fall to the ground in a depressing sea of darkness and you won’t be able to steal his weapons and sell them because
they are in bad condition. They should either update or get rid of the condition feature because that is one of the down sides to this game. Also, the game is a bit like Oblivion. In fact it is rather known as Elder Scrolls IV: Fallout. But that doesn’t really kill off the fact that I played the game all day everyday on Easy and it took me about one month and a half to beat it which is rather impressive for a game that took about 10 years to make.
All in all, I found the game to be a rather touching sequal to a series that should never be
forgotten, as the series is the RPG of Half-life. A legendary series that would never be
hated ever at all. Overall I give the game a 9.5/10.0
